1st Anniversary Date @ Murni Discovery, Seksyen 7, Shah Alam

Image
Hey there! It's Daisy here, writing her first food review. For our first anniversary, Gatsby and I chose to dine at Murni Discovery located at Seksyen 7, Shah Alam. From the menu, it seems like this is a Western fusion restaurant with some local twist. Gatsby and I arrived at the restaurant at around 5pm. The restaurant has a cool ambience, as it is somewhat an open air place. The setting of the place is also just nice, with warm yellow lights and a few decorations that are not overwhelming to the eyes.  The waitress was quick to take our orders. I ordered Spaghetti Carbonara with Chicken Chop while Gatsby went with Nasi Goreng Lamb Chop. For beverages, we ordered lime juice and plain water. It did not take that long for the food and drinks to arrive and I was excited to dig in as my tummy were already growling. Here is what our food looks like! Yummy! My spaghetti carbonara was delicious! I really liked the creamy carbonara sauce and there were generous amount ...

One Year With Her - Gatsby's Take

Image
Recently, we celebrated our first anniversary. dah setahun rupanya, sekejap je masa berlalu. I've been joking with my family that I have a girlfriend and guess what's their reactions? "Abang?? ada girlfriend?? tak percaya lah" "Siapalah yang malang sangat tu bang... Kesianlah dekat dia" "Macam mana lah dia boleh nak dengan abang... apa lah dia nampak dekat abang" Like it or not, I have to swallow it whole. But deep in my heart, I'm starting to question my worth. Slowly, I'm consumed with my negativity, that I'm starting to agree with them.  Then, came Daisy. She's always here with me, supporting me during my ups and downs. It never came to me that I need this amount of support from her. (Note that I've been single for a long time before I met Daisy).  So here's my take on our relationship so far: 1.  Reassurance . It's very magical. It can carve smiles on a sobbing face. It can revive your ...

Growth in Our Relationship - Daisy's Take

Image
Hey, it's Daisy writing. It has been 1 year and 6 days since Gatsby and I started dating. Throughout this relationship, we have learned a lot from each other ⏤ our strengths, weaknesses and personality. And this is my take on our personal growth and character development. First and foremost, I feel like I am very lucky to have known a man like Gatsby. He is very kind, caring and affectionate. Of course, some may think that those are basic traits one should have as a boyfriend, but in my past relationships, I have never had someone like him. My past relationships have been nothing but hurtful and I am more than glad I met Gatsby. He's really a sweetheart, my sweetheart to be precise.  In this relationship, I have also learned to be selfless and also to compromise. You see, when we first started dating, we fought A LOT . Some people say it is a part of the process of knowing each other, and maybe they're right. There were some of the things he did that I disli...

Our 1st Anniversary

Image
Hey, it's Daisy here. 21st January marked our first year of dating each other. So, we went on an unconventional date to celebrate our first anniversary! from  Nicole Autumn It started off with Gatsby helping me to move out of my college to my rented apartment. I just finished my final exam (which was also why we haven't published new entries since the last one) - which also means my semester break has started! WOOHOO!  Anyways, after we were done stuffing his car with my belongings, we headed to Seksyen 7 for a breakfast at the mamak. I was starving since I only ate onigiri for dinner the night before. Enjoyed our breakfast and later on the afternoon, we bought a new mattress as I did not have one in my apartment. When Gatsby and I arrived at my apartment, we were both exhausted from carrying and lifting heaps of my stuffs. We decided to only take out the mattress and my pillows and get some rest. The mattress was placed in the living room, under the fan that...

Daisy —The Ailurophile

Hi there, it's Daisy here, writing her first entry! Let me start introducing myself. Hi, I'm Daisy. I'm Gatsby's girlfriend (as in The Great Gatsby XD). We are two years old apart and I am the cuter, younger one 🤣 I am a first year biology student and I have intense passion for wildlife. So in this blog, I'll be posting monthly animal facts or sometimes some random science fact in hopes that I'll be able to educate my audience and instil their love for animals. I'm an ailurophile (which means a cat lover) but I have equal love for dogs too. My favorite wildlife animals are tigers, giraffes, koalas and kangaroos! I personally think they're very cute and charming. Aside that, I also love writing but I haven't picked up the pen in a while. I mainly write poetry and short stories. I'll share some of my thoughts and writings here too. A quick disclaimer though: I am not a good writer and have never learned writing, so I am open to cr...

Gatsby, Master of Coin

Greetings, Gatsby here writing about some introduction. This should be my first post though (you won't believe how much I had to endure Daisy's wrath when she found out I didn't introduce myself in the first post). So let me introduce myself: So I'm the boyfriend here, still in the early 20s taking his baby steps in this vast, foreign world. cey dah macam cerita fantasi kan. I was born a malay but struggled to get even a B in SPM (I know, shhh). At least I got an A for English though, I think I had an identity crisis back then haha. So please excuse my Manglish (Malay + English) language. I'm currently taking a honeymoon, working as a freelancer in KL before enrolling in a Postgraduate majoring in Construction Industry. I really like data analysis, I should have considered Data Scientist as a career right (I heard that line of profession is the gold mine nowadays). I also like finance, personal finance especially and I hate to admit that I kinda have mild obse...

Our Financial Journey Begins!

Image
Greetings, I am Gatsby, Master of Coin (if you know, you know ;p), reporting for my first post here. In 2020, we'll be starting our financial journey, which will be updated on a monthly basis. As a FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) die-hard fan, I couldn't emphasize more on the importance of Emergency Savings or Rainy Days fund, you name it. Asalkan duit tu guna untuk kecemasan nanti lah senang cerita.  That's the first baby step in pursuing the FIRE path. For starters, one month worth of salary is recommended for beginner like us to reach for Emergency Fund. A quick google search later, we found out that the minimum wage in Malaysia is RM 1100.00, and in my personal opinion that it is not over ambitious for us to achieve that. We'll start slow, and allocate 10% of our Income into the Fund. Rome wasn't built in a day kan, consistency is the key here and we believe we will reach that goal. Emergency Fund As of 1st January 2020,  Gatsby's ...

Happy New Year!

Image
In light of the colourful fireworks signaling the beginning of a new year, we have decided to take this opportunity to make it as our first day in our blogging journey. For starters, this blog is run by a young and aspiring couple who wish to transform this platform as memory capsule. Let us be known by the name of Gatsby and Daisy.  We will write about our goals, financial journey, love life and travels as a couple and not forgetting about things we're passionate about. Mind you, we will share our personal journey while being as discreet as possible. We would be very pleased if our privacy is respected.  We have a long way to go and there's still a lot to learn as we progress in this journey. We would appreciate your positive comments, constructive feedback in order for us to improve ourselves. And for new couple like us, this blog will act like a rally call for all of us to learn from each other and inevitably improving ourselves as a partner, lover and a ...
