Image
Greetings, Pardon for this delayed post. I've been very busy this past weeks. Duduk rumah pun sibuk ;p Actually, I am still having a hard time to adjust myself in this unprecedented circumstances. Honestly, this pandemic has ruined our life substantially. We pray that you guys are safe! And and and please, stay at home. Only go out when necessary to reduce the risk of contracting the virus. You never know the person beside you is the virus carrier or not. I am taking this opportunity to give a special thanks to our Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia including the front liners for handling this professionally. One of the easiest way to assist them is just stay at home! Let's cut it straight to the point, the following is our report for March 2020. Emergency Fund As of 1st April, Gatsby's Emergency Fund: RM 1282.00 Since I have reached the target of 1 month worth of salary, I was allocating more money on my early retirement fund (which I will introduce later...

Life Updates

Image
From  weheartit.com Hi there, it's Daisy here. It has been over a month since we updated this blog. Life has been crazy and we just couldn't find the time to write. We apologise for that. In late February, Gatsby and I started new semester. Both of us now study in the same campus so we get to see each other on a daily basis. I have started living in my rented apartment now and Gatsby would often take me out on a date. We spent so much time together every week until....... The recent pandemic outbreak happened. The government announced a movement control order which is predicted to end on April 14th. It was a massive chaos. Students were told to leave the campus and all lectures and classes will be done online. Of course, everyone including me wanted to go home. I bought a flight ticket from AirAsia to return to my hometown only to find out that my flight was cancelled just hours prior to my departure time. I had a mental breakdown thinking that I wouldn't b...

Bujo with Daisy: Getting Started

Image
Hi, it's Daisy here! Today I will talk about bullet journalling and how to get started.  So what is a bullet journal?   The Bullet Journal is an organizational system in a notebook created by Ryder Carroll. According to him, the Bullet Journal is designed “to help you track the past, organize the present, and plan for the future”. It can be your task manager, sketchbook, journal, idea pads, mood tracker, travel log and everything you want it to be. Bullet journal is also known as bujo. What kind of notebook or journal should you buy if you want to start a bujo?  Well, you can buy any notebook that you want. However, if you're really looking one for a specific purpose, there are many types of pages available out there. You can opt for a bujo with blank pages, grid,  dotted or lined. For those who like doodles, go for blank pages. For beginners like me, I recommend grid or dotted pages as they can be your guide in planning your bujo.  Where can...

by  Maddi Bazzocco Hello, it's Gatsby here.  Is it just me or January really felt like forever? rasa lama betul nak habis bulan januari ni. January really tested my financial strength as my income in December is only 1/3 of my usual income. This is because I went backpacking in Europe for 18 days (10/10 recommended). I will create a separate post for this in the future! Nonetheless, please see our financial updates below.  Emergency Fund  As of 1st February,  Gatsby's Emergency Fund: RM 900.53. I've contributed a total of RM 235.57 for January 2020. that is a 35% jump in a single month! The initial amount is not important, what matter the most is, she managed to pay herself first. She got her wealth snowball rolling and it will grow bigger e...

1st Anniversary Date @ Murni Discovery, Seksyen 7, Shah Alam

Image
Hey there! It's Daisy here, writing her first food review. For our first anniversary, Gatsby and I chose to dine at Murni Discovery located at Seksyen 7, Shah Alam. From the menu, it seems like this is a Western fusion restaurant with some local twist. Gatsby and I arrived at the restaurant at around 5pm. The restaurant has a cool ambience, as it is somewhat an open air place. The setting of the place is also just nice, with warm yellow lights and a few decorations that are not overwhelming to the eyes.  The waitress was quick to take our orders. I ordered Spaghetti Carbonara with Chicken Chop while Gatsby went with Nasi Goreng Lamb Chop. For beverages, we ordered lime juice and plain water. It did not take that long for the food and drinks to arrive and I was excited to dig in as my tummy were already growling. Here is what our food looks like! Yummy! My spaghetti carbonara was delicious! I really liked the creamy carbonara sauce and there were generous amount ...

One Year With Her - Gatsby's Take

Image
Recently, we celebrated our first anniversary. dah setahun rupanya, sekejap je masa berlalu. I've been joking with my family that I have a girlfriend and guess what's their reactions? "Abang?? ada girlfriend?? tak percaya lah" "Siapalah yang malang sangat tu bang... Kesianlah dekat dia" "Macam mana lah dia boleh nak dengan abang... apa lah dia nampak dekat abang" Like it or not, I have to swallow it whole. But deep in my heart, I'm starting to question my worth. Slowly, I'm consumed with my negativity, that I'm starting to agree with them.  Then, came Daisy. She's always here with me, supporting me during my ups and downs. It never came to me that I need this amount of support from her. (Note that I've been single for a long time before I met Daisy).  So here's my take on our relationship so far: 1.  Reassurance . It's very magical. It can carve smiles on a sobbing face. It can revive your ...
